One of our main goals is ensuring strong Democratic voter turnout by informing voters about elections, our candidates and the voting process. To that end, we are providing the information below, to ensure every eligible citizen is empowered to vote.

Step 2: Voter Registration

Register to Vote or Change Registration

Learn about requirements for registering to vote, as well as the various ways one can register. (Changing your voter registration is done by reregistering with your new information.) Registration can be done online, by mail or in-person in a variety of ways approved by NY State’s Board of Elections (BOE).

Military & Overseas Absentee Voters

Those in the military, their spouses and dependents, as well as citizens located overseas, may register for special Absentee Voting through the Dutchess County’s Board of Elections (BOE).

Step 3: Voting Options

Early in-person Voting

Early Voting is managed by the Dutchess County Board of Elections (BOE), so one may visit any of the identified Early Voting locations in Dutchess. Note that a new schedule is released just before Early Voting begins. (Clinton Town Hall is generally not available.)

Absentee or Early Mail Voting

Absentee or Early Mail Voting requires you request a ballot from New York State’s Board of Elections (BOE) well in advance of the election.

Town of Clinton Electoral Districts

Since the 2020 census, Clinton is now composed of two electoral districts.There is no district-specific representation in Clinton government, but there are district-specific representatives voting on our behalf at the Dutchess County Democratic Party level.

Dutchess County Legislative District 11

Town of Clinton is fully contained within Dutchess County Legislative District 11. District 11 also encompasses parts of Rhinebeck and Pleasant Valley. We are currently represented by Brennan Kearney (D) in the Dutchess County Legislature since 2019.

Town of Clinton is fully contained within NY Assembly District 106. District 106 encompasses parts of Columbia and Dutchess counties. We are currently represented by Didi Barrett (D) in the NY Assembly since 2013.
